I'm an artist from Sydney, Australia. Painting, drawing and any form of creative play is my passion and obsession. Inspiration comes from nature and plein air sketching [on location] Observing everyday life and capturing the moment; whether that be people interacting, contrast of light, or momentarily startling colour effects.
I wish to evoke the passion and response in the viewer to the stimulus which inspired me to create a work.
Constantly exploring and experimenting with different mediums. Oils for the ability to convey texture and lusciousness. Watercolours for transparency and dreamy soft colours and atmosphere. Charcoal for simplicity and sensitivity.
I am primarily attracted by shapes, patterns and their inherent colours, in figurative, landscape, still life, or the urban motif. We are surrounded by beauty.
Art Education
Studied diploma of fine arts at St George Tafe, Sydney. Have continued to study and progress with masterclasses and workshops with artists that I admire and stimulate me. Such as Nicholas Harding, Archibald winner, Alex Mckenzie, multi finalist for Archibald and Wynne prizes. Cherry Hood, Archibald winner. Nicole Kelly, winner of Brett Whiteley Travelling Art Scholarship. Watercolourists, Joseph Zhubic and Herman Pekel.
